Meet… Diana Chaulklin! Diana is an Accounting Associate with Standard Electric. She works out of our Milwaukee location. Get to know Diana!
Could you share a brief introduction about yourself, including your role at Standard Electric and how long you’ve been with us?
I started with Standard Electric in August 2019 in Accounting working primarily with Accounts Payable and transitioned to Accounts Receivable in 2020.
What inspired you to pursue a career in your field, and how did your journey lead you to Standard Electric?
I started working in Accounting in high school under the Cooperative Ed Program which eventually brought me to Standard Electric.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Begin each day with coffee and collaborate with customers and associates to resolve any billing issues so we can receive payment.
What do you love most about your job at Standard Electric? Is there a particular project or achievement that you’re especially proud of?
The opportunities to work collectively toward common goals.
How would you describe the culture at Standard Electric? What makes it unique or special to you?
Standard Electric has a forward mindset and initiative to keep Standard Electric progressive for the future.
Working with a team often brings diverse perspectives. Can you share an example of how teamwork has led to success in a project or initiative at Standard Electric?
The Accounting team successfully coordinates together on decorating our area for office events. I have also helped to organize a holiday party, which was a lot of fun.
Moving beyond work, what do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies or passions you’re willing to share?
When I am able, I like to visit my grandchildren. I also enjoy going to Packer football games and spending time outside.
Do you have any skills or talents that most people at work might not know about? How do these contribute to your personal or professional life?
I have a passion for trying new things, even when I’m not an expert. For example, I enjoy painting rocks, even though I’m not a skilled painter, and I make over-the-collar bandanas for dogs, cats, and rabbits, despite not knowing how to sew. I also love gardening and decorating my yard for each season. All these things teach me to have patience, with or without success, and to never stop trying to do something that may seem out of reach.
As you look to the future with Standard Electric, what are you most excited about or looking forward to in your role or the company’s direction?
The years have flown by, and I have already achieved a wonderful goal of five years with the company. I look forward to the continuous learning opportunities and being a part of the steadfast successful growth of the company.
